Traditionally, jam is an appetizer for every meetings in Lunar New Year, the time of transition between the old year and the new lunar year, a time when heaven and earth are in harmony. In the traditional culinary culture of Vietnamese New Year, in addition to "meat fat, melon and onions, red couplets, trees, firecrackers, green banh chung", every house has Tet jam. Jam cake, in addition to being used to worship ancestors, used to make a tea party, also contains a treasure of profound philosophical stories about life.
